Happy Birthday Savannah!

Our little girl turns 5 today. We cannot believe that it has been 5 years since we became parents. Savannah has grown up so much and has become such a big girl all of the sudden, it's hard for us to believe. Some days she wishes she wasn't growing up because she doesn't want the responsibility but she really is a good helper and helps me with her sisters.

2004
Here are a few things about her:

favorite primary song "I Love to See the Temple"

favorite Christmas Song "Away in a Manger"

favorite game "Candy Land"

2005

she loves to learn and going to preschool everyday and seeing her teachers Miss Suzanne and Miss Sarah.

she also loves going to Primary and seeing all of her friends

favorite movie "Thumblina"

favorite color "really dark purple"

favorite song "Under the Sea" in the "Little Mermaid"

2006

favorite book "Sleeping Beauty"

favorite princess "Ariel"

she loves to practice her phone # and entering it in the phone.

she loves to color and draw (she is good at drawing for her age, I don't know where she got that talent but it is not from me).

2007

she loves doing art, cutting, and gluing. (she also loves to keep all of her special art projects and pictures she draws...lucky us)

she is a great helper with her sisters.

she has a tender heart and worries about her sisters when they are crying or in trouble.

she loves to write and pratice her letters by writting them all the time and sounding out what words start with. It is fun to watch her learn and grow and get excited when she figures things out by herself.

she loves her "Whole Family even her baby brother"

2008

We love you Savannah!
We are so happy that you are in our family. You are a great big sister and we appreciate all that you do in our family.

Winter

Oh how we love winter in Iowa.!?

It has been such good weather and in one day it went from 57 degrees to 37 degrees last week. Then yesterday it snowed all day but was no worse than snow in Utah (I thought) but schools were let out early so Savannah's preschool was cancelled.

Well last night the winds picked up and now we are snowed in (well at least everyone across the street is, the snow from our porch has blown over against their doors almost 3/4 up their door). It is 10 degrees right now, there was 14.5 inches of snow that fell in Des Moines yesterday and last night and the winds are so strong almost every thing is closed they even said all the malls are closed and of course all the schools are closed along with lots of other businesses.

Jason is with a plastic surgeon this week and they were supposed to do surgery today at 7am but when he called the Surgery Center they said there was no anesthesiologist so that of course means no surgery. I think he has mixed feelings he loves surgery but he also needs sleep and he has his final boards on Friday that he really needs to study for so that is what he will be doing.

As for me I am just glad I don't have to get everyone ready today and we can just have a fun day at home. I have a huge list of things to do that I am hopefully going to get to. But also have fun make gingerbread men with the girls and getting cozy.

I do want to just say that I feel sorry for the people that do have to work but am grateful for them also. There are some people that just don't get a day off in bad weather, snow plows, doctors, nurses, police officers, fire department, and the list goes on but I am sure glad they do because I keep thinking if I go into Labor or if there was an emergency I am going to want my doctor there and the roads plowed as much as possible. Thank you to all you people!

5 OVER

Have you ever gotten a ticket for going 5 MPH over the speed limit? Well Jason did the other day driving home from Omaha on I80. He was going 75 in a 70 at 11:30pm...so for this trip flying out of Omaha was not cheaper.
