Bubbles

Savannah decided she really wanted a fish.  She kept asking for one and begging for one so finally we told her if she buys all the stuff that's fine, she can have a fish.  We went to Wal-Mart got all the stuff along with the fish.  She got everything ready and after asking everyone's opinion on what to name it she finally decided on Bubbles.  She is so excited to have this fish and is taking really good care of it.  She can't wait to change the water when the time comes.

(Update:  Bubbles died this morning.  She found him before school at the bottom of his bowl.  It as really sad. -January 6, 2017)
(a few days later she bought Leo, he was dead the next morning.  She is going to wait to buy another one after she does some more research on them)

Christmas Morning!!!

Christmas Eve all the kids slept in Savannah's room.  Santa left their stocking upstairs by the fireplace so they could look a those when they first woke up.
We were supposed to have church today but there was a big ice storm so Bishop cancelled it last night. It was kind of sad since that is what Christmas is all about but since we have so many members that live far away it just wasn't worth the risk of people driving in the ice rain.  So instead slept in a little longer and got to take our time opening presents.
Then at 7pm they came and woke us up and we went down stairs to see what Santa had brought.  It was officially our 1st Christmas Day in our home since last year we were in Utah.  It was a wonderful day!  Everyone was very happy and grateful for what they got.

Christmas Eve

Christmas Eve dinner and ready for bed!
After dinner and our Christmas Eve devotional, we did our traditional drive around town looking at lights.  We did it a few nights before with our friends doing a light scavenger hunt so we went to the neighborhoods were we hadn't been.  This was the coolest house we saw!  The kids got out and walked it because they thought it was so neat.  It really was pretty!

Coldest Day in lower 48 States...feels like -59 degrees

Aberdeen was the coldest place in the lower 48 States today and some reports said it was colder then Antarctica.  It was very cold but we carried on and still went to church and then got cozy at home afterwards.

swimming lessons

Because of our crazy summer the kids never took swimming lessons and they still have some things to learn so we put them in lessons at the YMCA.   I was very pleased with how they taught the kids to swim.  None of them passed which was good because I feel like they could still really improve.  Austin was in a really hard class probably a little bit to hard for him but the other class, I thought, was too easy.  I was so proud of him though he really stuck with it and could swim the length of the pool by the time he was done.  He does best on the back stroke and really liked it even though it was really hard at times.
The girls did a good job too they just need to keep improving their strokes.

Austin and Olivia's class was held at the same time and then Madi and Savannah were in the same class right after their class.
