The splash park is free until noon so sometimes we head over there for a few hours to enjoy the sun and the water!

We just finished the two weeks of swimming lessons for the girls and they did a good job.  They definitely improved from the 1st day to the last and Savannah has improved since last year.  We have a few things for Madi and Olivia to work on... mostly stamina, which will come with practice as the summer goes on.

 

 

 

 

They really enjoyed going and especially liked the last day, free day, when they got to go down the slides.  Madi was even big enough to go down by herself.

 

 

 

 

 

 Here is my good little boy who most the time played really well while we watched the girls.

Austin got to mow the lawn with daddy and loved it....

 

in fact after Jason told him his turn was over he kept walking by him hoping for another turn.

Residency get together at the Lake House

 

Saturday we went to one of the resident's family lake house in southern Iowa to go swimming and fishing.  Jason went down the night before and then we drove down for the day.  We had lunch, went swimming out on the party boat, came back went fishing, swam some more just out front of the lake house and enjoyed the day in the sun and spending time with the residence.

Jason had been pumping the kids up about catching fish.  He went up last month and caught a fish almost every time he cast his line in and then the night before they caught a few and ate them for dinner.  Then when all the kids got there he couldn't catch one...

Austin did so good in his life jacket.  In fact when we got back to shore he swam by himself while I sat and watched him on the dock.

 



Then they tried to catch a fish later in a different spot...still nothing



Finally right after everyone was changed and ready to go.  One of the resident's brother got a fish on the line and let the kids reel it in.  They all touched it and Savannah was daring enough to hold it.

14 years!

 

 

 

 

Happy Father's Day!

Instead of writing stuff about Jason, I took pictures of the cards our kids gave him and let them do the talking.

 

 

 

"Destination Dance"

 

 

 

June 6th, 7th and 8th where all dedicated to Madilynn and Savannah's dance.

 

Thursday was Dress Rehearsal which went from 3:00pm-9:00pm, luckily Savannah's 1st dance wasn't until 4:45 so we went an hour late and then though out the night the dance teacher was ahead of schedule which threw us off a little when we came back from dinner but it did mean we finished a 1/2 an hour early, so I'm not complaining.


 

It was Madi's first dress rehearsal so after her first dance I asked her how it was, she said, she was a little scared at first but after she started she was just fine.  Savannah has done it for 3 years now and still gets butterflies before her 1st dance too.

 

 

Friday Night I took the kids to the Recital and Jason meet us there right after work.  He missed Savannah's 1st dance by 4 minutes, but what can you do?...but she still had two more that he saw.
After the show they got a flower.

 

Saturday Jason, Austin and Olivia stayed home while I went back for the 3rd time to see the show and help the girls get in and out of their costumes. 

 

They both did a great job!  It's fun to watch their personalities on stage and see them enjoying every minute!
