Our 1st Home

So after being married for 11 years and living in apartments the whole time we have finally bought our first home and we LOVE it!

We closed on our house on June 11th. It was a very happy moment and after we were done the girls started jumping up and down which brought tears to my eyes and the lady closing our loan. My mom flew in on Sunday to help us with the kids for the week while we painted and riped out carpet (she really ended up helping us paint too...Thanks again mom for all your help). It was a lot of work but we are very happy we did it. (We still have little odds and ends to do...but isn't that the joy of owning a home.)

Jason couldn't wait to mow the lawn and he smiled the whole time doing it...wonder how long that will last?

June 22 we got the moving truck...which ended up being the hottest day in Iowa up to that point for the year, and some wonderful friends and guys from the ward showed up to help load the truck and some even drove up to our new house to help unload. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU! Later that night Jason and I made one more load with more boxes and the stuff in our garage and that was the first night we slept in the house. The girls loved it!

So now 1 1/2 months later we finally feel like we are settled. Thanks again to all of you who helped us not only physically but prays too because there where definite miracles that happened to get us into this house on time (before Jason started Residency).

"Each Life That Touches Ours for Good"

(Spjuts, Allreds and Jankes)

For the last four years we have lived by wonderful people who have been our family and who understood our life because they were going though medical school also.

A few months ago we had to said goodbye to many good friends who have touched our life and who we will always remember.

Everytime I had to say goodbye this song would come into my mind and I think it is very appropriate:

"Each life that touches ours for good

Reflects thine own great mercy Lord:

Thou sendest blessings from above

Thru words and deeds of those who love."

(LDS Hymn Book song 293)

We had a wonderful time with all of you and will never forget all that you did for our family. I will miss all of the good times we had, for always having someone to call when I needed help, and for your kids who my kids miss and love very much.

You ALL know who you are (even if you are not in the pictures) and I thank you for everything. I cry every time I think of those hard but wonderful years because of good friends that the Lord blessed us to live by.

Best of Luck with everything and may the Lord bless you for blessing us.

Doesn't he look like a doctor.!?

Dr. Jason D. Spjut

Jason graduated from DMU about a month ago and now is officially a doctor. It was such a fun time filled with lots of emotion. We had great time at all the events that the school organized, we had family (grandma and grandpa Allen, mom and Dad Jensen, mom and dad Gardner, dad Spjut, Bill and Danna (grandma Allen's sister and Husband), Shawn, Brandt, Kierstin (Jason siblings) and Max (Kierstin's son who is Savannah age) ) come into town and we got to see our wonderful friends again who we met while going to school.

I am so proud of Jason and all of his hard work these past 4 years, it has not always been easy but we did it!

We also couldn't have done it without our family's love, support and prayers. Thank you very much, we love and appreciate all that you do for us.

PS since I won't get to it by the 4th...HAPPY 4th of JULY!
I feel so blessed to live in such a wonderful country.
