"watch me"

Austin riding his bike with one hand.  I just love watching him, it is so cute the way he holds his hand up and how excited he is when he does it. :)

Last Day of School at Ashland Ridge

Ashland Ridge has been a wonderful school for the last 5 years.  There are many great teachers there and we will really miss them.  You could feel the love each teacher had for our kids.

It was a very tearful day saying good bye today, even for me.  Madi and Olivia teachers both had tears in their eyes.
The girls had a great year and definitely learned a lot and loved their teachers.
We will miss Ankeny and this school very much.

Last Day of Preschool!!

Austin had a great year in preschool this past year!  He really liked it and enjoyed going.  He had a great teacher, Miss Ashley, who did a great job teaching and having fun.
Now it is on to Kindergarten...:)

SOLD!

We sold the house today, May 25th, to a very cute couple.   We had a few realtors tell us it was worth about $185,00.  We decided to put our asking price at $182,500. We had a few offers but we could never come to an agreement. After two weeks on the market we lowered it to $179,500.  Five days later we came to an agreement at $177,500 with this very nice young couple,________, who are getting married next year.  (The girls mom is actually the gym teacher at the kids school.)  I had been praying that we would sell it to the right people and know that we did.  They are the perfect couple for this home that holds so many dear sweet memories in it for our family.

They close on June 29th, which is perfect because we plan to close on June 30th on our new home.

tonsils

Savannah had been having sore throats and strep since December.  She would get strep go on an antibiotic take it for 7-10 days get off it and a week later she had a sore throat again.  Finally we talked to the doctor about seeing an ENT to get her tonsils out.  As soon as he looked at her and her history... he totally agreed.  When he saw them he said, "Yes they need to come out, they are almost kissing."  So on Wednesday, May 13th she got her tonsils out.  She was nervous but Jason got to walk her back and that helped a little bit.

It was very painful but we had to keep telling her it would be better in a few weeks and then she wouldn't  have strep anymore.

Cars

We were hoping the Lexus would last at least another year but it needs a new transmission and we really don't want to put more money into it.  So we decided to sell it.   The Lexus was a nice car and it was great when we needed it the most.  Just grateful it didn't stop working sooner.

We went out and bought a Honda.  We bought it with the thought that when the kids are old enough to drive they can drive it.

4th grade Science Fair

The 4th graders at Ashland Ridge put on a Science Fair this year.  Savannah choose to do "what removes stains the best if there is no time to lauder them?"  The 3 things we tried were foam hand soap, OxyClean, and Resolve.  She found hand soap worked the best on the 4 stains we tried.

For Sale

We put our house on the market today, For Sale By Owner.  It is bitter sweet.  It is a day we knew would come 5 years from when we bought it, we just didn't know it would be this hard.  And I can't even write about it because it makes me cry. (Today is really September 29th and I am getting teary eyed just thinking about it still.)
