2010

This year has been a busy year for us as you look over the blog this last year so much has happened and we have been so blessed. The year started out great...3 days into the year we had the birth of our son, Jason went to Africa, Jason matched at Mercy Medical Center which was his first choice, grandma's came to visit, we went to Utah for a month, Jason graduated from Medical School, we bought our first home, Jason started Residency, we got a paycheck with a comma, Savannah started Kindergarten, both sets of parents came to see us at different times, the birthdays starting in November, holidays and more birthdays. Needless to it was a great year, at times filled with stress, others with tears (happy tears and sad tears), but most of all appreciation to our Heavenly Father for all the many blessing He blessed us with. There where many prayers and all of them answered one way or another.

Through the year...how the kids have changed in 2010

Bowling

Jason has December 27-January 3 off so we decided to do something fun as a family...despite all our food poisoning (most of us were over it by today), so we went BOWLING for the 1st time as a family at Waukee Lanes. Every Wednesday you can bowl for a $1.00 a game and $1.00 shoe rentals. The kids LOVED it and they all said it is their favorite sport. Unfortunately I forgot my camera and I can't figure out how to get the pictures off my camera. We all had a great time and I think we will have to do it more often.

Christmas Eve and Christmas

Christmas Eve

On Christmas Eve we had dinner, then we read the scriptures and watched a church DVD about the birth of our Savior and talked about the true meaning of Christmas.

Then we started a tradition of driving around and looking at Christmas light before we go to bed.

Jason LOVES Christmas so when we were looking for houses to buy he would picture Christmas in the house and that is how he determined if it was a good house or not. Well every night he would say how much he loves the way our house looks at Christmas and that it was just how he pictured it back in the Spring when we first looked at the house.

Looks like Santa came.

Christmas Morning the kids woke up to Savannah so excited because she looked outside and saw footprints and Reindeer prints. (7:45am)

Austin's 1st Christmas

Santa brought Madi the microphone she asked for

Santa brought Olivia a baby crib, because Santa thought 2 microphone would be too much for our house, but she loved it just as much.

Santa brought Austin his first John Deere tractor that goes by itself

Savannah got the guitar she asked Santa for.

and Santa brought Jason a University of Utah flag.

Some other favorites were "Toothless the Dragon"

and the Leapster that I got for a great deal while waiting in line for it at Wal-Mart at Midnight after Thanksgiving. But look at her face it was well worth it.

and I got a watch and a vacuum for my tile floors (no picture...thank goodness)

Jason also bought Kinetc for the X-Box 360 a "family" gift too bad the kids are too short.

Thanks to all of our family who thought of us and sent us gifts.
We had a wonderful Christmas, we always miss our families and wish we lived closer but we enjoyed the season and the Spirit it brings.

just chillin'

Every once in awhile I will find Austin just hangin' out on the stairs, acting big and like he knows what is going on.

the Friend Magazine

I love this magazine!

I got it for my kids a fews years back but it turns out the stories are for me. Everytime I read the stories in it I cry, for some reason it touches me so much. I feel the Spirit so strong when I read it. I try to read it alone because my kids keep looking at me weird everytime I start to cry when I am reading them a story so it helps if I read the story first to myself and then to them.

6 years old

(her eyes really are open she was just so excited that her eyes disappeared when she smilied)

Savannah turned 6 years old today. I cannot believe it! I still remember 6 years ago when I had her and what a wonderful day that was when we became parents...has it really been that long. I remember being the hospital in the middle of the night holding her and her just looking at me with her big eyes as I told her all the people who love her.

Here are a few things about her:

her favorite color is rainbow colors with sparkles on top

her favorite primary song "I Love to See the Temple"

her favorite princess Ariel and Jasmine

her favorite dinner RIB! (her request for dinner tonight)

her favorite treat is sugar cookies

her favorite game to play UNO

her favorite movie is "New Rapunzel" ("Tangled")

her favorite thing to play with is Barbies

her favorite book is "The Very Fairy Princess"

her best friends are Belle, Hayden and Ava

her favorite part about the new house is the basement

she wants to be a teacher and a ballerina teacher when she grows up

she really loves going to Kindergarten and is doing really well. She has made lots of new friends and is learning how to read, write, do math, and many more things (that I didn't do until I was in 1 or 2 grade)

she loves to make Austin laugh and he loves it too.

She is our good helper and likes to be in charge (sometimes a little too much). She is a great example to her siblings.

We Love You!
Thanks for bringing so much joy to our Family.
