My sister and her husband had a little baby boy on January 17th, Jace Robert Wicker. He is so cute... the girls can hardly wait to hold him, too bad he will be 6 months old before we get to see him in person.

1st lost tooth
Madi lost her 1st tooth last night, January 21, 2013 (front bottom right). It had been wiggly for a couple days, then yesterday she really started to wiggle it. We tried a few times to pull it but then she would start complaining it hurt too bad so I told her when she was really ready to let me know. Of course at bed time she tells me she wants me to pull it out, so I took her in my bathroom, pulled twice and it was out. When I pulled it out there was a ton of blood, but she didn't know it was out and said, "Oh look there blood," (meaning it was getting closer to getting out) Then I told her to look in my hand, she couldn't believe it. We found her tooth box, grandma Jensen gave to her, and put it under her pillow for the tooth fairy. She was really cute and concerned about where to put it under her pillow so the tooth fairy could find it. We found the perfect spot and the next morning the tooth fairy must have found it because she had $1.25 in her box. She was so excited!
She even took her tooth, money and box for Sharing at school today

ShowTime
The Elementary that our kids go to put on a talent show, ShowTime, twice a year one in the winter and one in the spring. So they don't have the whole student body doing a talent they make the kids try out. Savannah has tried out every year and has not made it.
This year her and her best friend, Ava, made up a tap dance to Jingle Bells while another friend, Avery, sang it, and they made it! It was scheduled to be the day before Winter Break but then we had the big snow storms and school was cancelled so they rescheduled for January 10th.
Well during that time her best friend moved and had started at a new school. We talked about it before they left and her mom said she would just bring her down on the day of the Show. A few days before the show I emailed her mom to confirm her coming down and everything seemed to be good until her mom called me 2 days before the show and said Ava didn't want to do it anymore. I was a little bit upset because I knew how important it was to Savannah, she was so ready, they had practiced and practiced and now I had to tell her she was going to have to do it herself or not at all. (Jason made a good point and said, I would have told my daughter she made a commitment and she was going to keep it. I agreed. But it's not our daughter so we had to go with it.)
When I told her she was a little upset but I told her we would go talk to the counselor in charge and find out what we should do because there was still Avery involved too. The counselor was very nice but needed an answer the next day so that the MC's could practice their part. Savannah really didn't want to do it herself. The girl across the street said Ava had taught her the dance so we asked her if she wanted to do it, she seemed okay with it, but when I emailed her mom, she was out of town and told me she would get back to me. Well the reply said Colby wasn't comfortable doing it on such short notice. Which was understandable she only had 1 day by this time and she has a lot of after school activites, so there really wasn't much time to practice.
So after much thought Savannah decided it might be her only time to be in the Talent Show, so she was going to do the dance by herself, plus she would really be all by herself Avery would be up there with her singing. There was one part she was supposed to do with a partner so she just improvised when she got up there with what she felt comfortable doing.
I was so proud of her. They did a great job! She said both of them were a little scared, but were glad they did it!
Enjoy the Show!
Enjoy the Show!

NO MORE DIAPERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thursday January 10, 2013 I decided it would be the day to potty train Austin. I haven't been going to the gym since November because we have had so much going on so I decided while I was out of the habit I would just potty train Austin so I wouldn't have to stop going to the gym again to potty train him...if that makes sense.
That day didn't go so well he peed all day in his underwear, luckily it was never on the carpet, the worse we got was on his bed. He hated the pee running down his leg too so that helps. But he did go poop on the toilet just fine.
Friday he had a few pee accidents.
Saturday he came to me every time he had to go to the bathroom and the rest is history.
I have been putting a diaper on him at night just in case plus we have a few extra to get rid of but every morning so far he has woken up dry. :)
The only problem I am having a week later is he is now saying, "I don't want to go, it takes too long." and then he cries on the floor for 15 minutes instead of getting on the toilet for 1 minute.
He didn't even have to be bribed with a toy, just some M&M's every time he went or tried worked great!
No more diapers at our house and it will save us at least $40 a month!

It's GREAT to be 8!
Savannah turned 8 years old and chose to be baptized a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She was baptized on January 5, 2013. It was a very special day and we are so pleased with her decision to become a member of the Church and make those baptismal covenants with Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ.
She shared this day with another little girl named Darby from the other ward. Her grandparents flew in for the special day and she had friends and ward members there to support her also.
Savannah wanted everyone there to share their favorite scripture with her so she could mark them in her new scriptures, Darby's family thought that was a good idea too, so we had note cards for people to write down their favorite scripture on for each of the girls.
Then we wanted to do something special while everyone waited for the dads and girls to get dressed so the Lee's (Darby's Family) offered to make a video of the girls, with picture of them growing up. They each had their own section of the video with primary music playing. It was very fun to see how each girl had grown and the memories it brought back.
We split the program we were in charge of the 1st half. Savannah chose "We'll Bring the World His Truth" for the opening song, Grandma Jensen to say the opening prayer and Grandma Gardner to give the talk on Baptism. Then we had Grandpa Jensen and Grandpa Gardner be the witnesses. There was a beautiful spirit there that day that I hope we will all remember.
We went to Chili's after to celebrate.

Austin's 3rd Birthday!
Can it really be that our baby is 3 years old? He is just like all my other 3 years old... they know everything and are VERY independent (when they want to be). He is still my sweet little boy...most the time.
He had a special birthday this year, both sets of grandparent were here for his birthday and he loved every minute of it.
He is such a good little boy, like he always has been. He is my buddy and I love it!
He give hugs and kisses all the time.
He likes, "Choo Choos"
He likes Thomas the Train, Woody and Buzz, Cars, balls...pretty much anything boy.
He likes to eat Pizza
His favorite friends are Greydon and McKinzie
He likes going to nursery, to play and see his teachers.
He sings like his sisters (either songs on the radio or primary songs) When a song he knows comes on in the car he always tells me to "turn up, mom, turn up louder"
He is a good sport and always plays "mommy and daddy" with his sisters.

Happy 2013!
The New Year always comes a few hours early at our house, this year it came around 9:40pm.
We had a count down after dinner and then sprayed silly string all over our house. Then Jason and I watched a movie which ended just in time to watch the ball drop!
Here's to a new year and hoping that it's as good and safe as it was last year!
