NEW YEARS EVE!

I don't have any pictures of New Years Eve but we went to the Straley's house along with the Dunlavy's and Foster's.  We had lots of food.  The men watched football, the kids played and the women talked.  It was a fun nigh, I just forgot my camera.

Christmas!...our last one in Iowa

Christmas Eve Tradition

Since we don't live by family we have created our own Christmas Eve tradition that we started 9 years ago, our 1st Christmas away from family.

 

We always have a nice Christmas Eve dinner, followed by a Christmas devotional where we read the Christmas Story and watch a few church Christmas videos.  It really bring the true the meaning of Christmas into our home before Santa comes.

 

After we get in our jammies, get in the car and go out to drive through the town to see all the Christmas lights while we listen to Christmas music.

 

We have all come to love this wonderful tradition that brings the spirit of Christmas in our home.

Savannah's 10th Birthday

 

10 YEARS OLD!  WOW!

 

 

 

She went out with Jason on her annual dinner with dad date on December 12th.  This year they went to PHO a Japanese Restaurant.  She loved it!

 

 

On her real birthday we had a little family party with her favorite cake from Hy-Vee.

On December 19th she had a friend party this year with some of her good friends.  It was a "Spa Pajama" party.

She is enjoying 4th grade and everything she is learning this year so far.

She loves her siblings even when they don't listen to her and is a very good sister.  She is very helpful around our house, sometimes she even thinks she's the mom.

Last Day of School before Winter Break

 

The kids all had their Winter Class Parties on December 19th the last day before the start of Winter Break.  I went and did Madi's party and then since I missed Austin's Fall Party I went to his party and help with it.

 

Then on our way home from picking the girls up from school Santa was on the corner waving to all this kids wishing them a Happy Winter Break and a Merry Christmas! 

 

Ward Christmas Party

 

This year our ward (the Ankeny 2nd Ward) did a Ward Christmas breakfast.  We went to the church in our pajamas, had breakfast, sang Christmas songs and of course had a photo booth.  It was a simple but fun!

 



 

 

Visiting Santa

 

We went to Brass Pro Shop again this year to see Santa. They always have it set up so cute and festive.  After visiting Santa they wrote their lists to Santa so he wouldn't forget.

 

 

 

 

 

Olivia's 7th Birthday

 Olivia turned 7 years old and to celebrate she had 6 different party celebrations.

 

 

It started with her going out for her annual birthday dinner with Jason.  This year they went to Buffalo Wild Wings...mostly because of the birthday desert they bring out.  (Olivia always asks what's for dinner immediately followed by what's for desert.)

 

 

Then we had a party while grandparents were here.

 

Then on her birthday she took candy canes and celebrated with her school class.

That day after school Alisha Dunlavy made her cupcakes and she celebrated with them.  Jason and I were in Colorado for a job interview and didn't get in until late that night so it was very nice of Alisha to do that for her.

 

 

 

After Jason and I arrived home we did a family birthday party for her.

Then on December 5th we invited some of her friends over for a "Frozen" themed friend party.

Favorite Subject: Math and Recess

She likes to play and always includes the little kids.

She is enjoying school this year and really likes her teacher Miss Walters. 

She loves her siblings and is a very good sister.

4th grade Recorder Concert

 

 

Savannah had a recorder concert last night.  Jason and I missed it by a few hours because we were out of town on an interview but we had some very nice friends of ours (the Fosters) take Savannah with them and their 4th grader (Tyler) so she could still participate. And they even took pictures for us. :)

 

 

 

I feel bad we missed it but glad she got to do it.  She really likes doing things like that and they had been working very hard in music class to prepare.
