Fall Festivities

Playing in the leaves.

Preschool Halloween Parties. Madi had hers on Monday and Savannah on Friday. Kids make the holidays so much more fun. It reminds me of how excited I got and how fun it is.

Wednesday we took the kids to Living History Farms for a night of Trick or Treating.

Thursday night we carved our pumpkins. The girls each picked out what they wanted their pumpkin to look like...even Olivia.

Friday night was Beggers Night so we went out in the cold and light misty rain to go Trick or Treating. I took the girls and Jason stayed home to hand out the candy. It was so fun watching the girls, Olivia was really getting into it and of course loved getting and eating the candy.
After getting all the candy we came home snuggled up with the candy and watched a movie. The girls had a great time.

Then to top everything off, Saturday we went to the Ward Halloween Party, a night of soup, talent and a Trunk or Treat.
(No pictures, forgot my camera)

HAWKEYES

We have lived her a little over 3 years now and have always leaned towards the Hawkeyes but haven't really got into watching them consistently. Well a few weeks ago Savannah came home from preschool and said she was cheering for the Hawkeyes, I guess they choose which team they wanted to win, the Cyclones or the Hawkeyes, and she choose the Hawkeyes. I thought she was persuaded by her teachers but when I saw the list they where on the Cyclone side. So she came up with this one all on her own and now declares herself a Hawkeye Fan!
Even the other day Jason and I were trying to get our children to side with our favorite teams...Jason the U and I the Y... Savannah chimes in "the Hawkeyes!"
Needless to say we now watch the Hawkeyes along with the U and Y games (I even stay up and watch them even without my husband and find myself really getting into it) and as most of you know it has been a great year for them...so GO HAWKEYES!

ALREADY?

The other morning Savannah watched the Weather and it said "Snow Flurries for tomorrow." I thought it wouldn't be much and Jason said it would just blow over and never happen.
Well Saturday morning we woke up to Savannah and Madilynn running in our room saying, "It's snowing! It's snowing!", followed by "Can we go play in it and build a snowman?"
"No not right now."
"Well then can we call Grandpa and Grandma?"
"Sure."
Then it get it out of their system so they would stop asking about playing in it. I let them go out and touch it and try and make a snowball. They where satisfied but sad when it was all melted by the afternoon.
I sure hope winter is not here already, or it is going to be a long winter here in Iowa.

Pence's Pumpkins

In between Conference Sessions on Sunday we went to Bishop Pence's House (the bishop in our old ward) to pick pumpkins. We had never been out to their house before, we had just heard how fun it was and we were not let down. We had a WONDERFUL time.

They had so many things my girls didn't know where to start...jumping on the tramp, holding the cats (Savannah was the only one brave enough to do that), swing on the tire swing, go down the slide out of the tree house, there was so much to do and it got even better...

Bishop brought the tractor out and gave us all a hayride around the property.

Then we picked pumpkins

and then we went out on their pond in their paddle boats.

The girls were in heaven and Jason now has a new dream. It was such a fun afternoon spent outside in the Fall weather with great friends.
