1st day of school!!!...for Austin

Today was finally Austin's 1st day of kindergarten!  He has been so excited and been waiting so patiently and today was finally his day.  (He's not going to be excited when he can't go tomorrow but after Friday he will go every day with his sisters)

He had a great day! He was all smiles!  He really liked it a lot.  He has a fun teacher, who will be great for him this year.  It wasn't as hard for him as it was for the girls because no matter if we still lived in Ankeny he still would of been going to a new school with new friends.

This is a fun, special year because it is the only year all the kids will be in the same school!  So they get to go on this new journey together and be there for one another as we go through this new change together as a family.

1st Day of School!!!...for the girls

 



Today was the 1st day of school for the girls at their new school, ______________.  They were very excited to go and meet new kids.  The part they weren't excited about was that it was only a 1/2 day. 

 

Austin didn't get go which he was very disappointed about, instead we had Kindergarten orientation and then we signed him up for his small group day, where they split his class up into 3 groups and had them come either Monday, Wednesday, or Thursday then on Friday they start going every day with their whole class.

 

After picking them up from school they decided that a 1/2 day was ok, since they didn't know the school or any kids.  It would of been a long day if it was the full 8 hours.  They did meet a few people and see some kids from their soccer teams but moving to a new place is hard so it wasn't was fun as it would of been if we were still in Ankeny.  They did ok and are excited to go back tomorrow.

besides golfing....our new family activity is biking

Since the kids all got new bikes Jason and I decided we should get ourselves one too, so we can go biking as a family.  It has been a lot of fun to just get out of the house with the kids and go for a little bike ride.  Jason and I even go at night after the kids are in bed and Savannah is at home to watch them.

golf dates

I know it is a surprise to many but I actually, kind of, golf and own my own pair of golf shoes.
Jason is so excited!  It is fun to go on afternoon dates after Jason is done with work and the kids are still in school.

Brown County Fair

 

We decided to go and check out our county fair.  It was nothing compared to the Iowa State Fair but it was free and fun to walk around and see the animals.

 

frogs

We have lots of lots of frogs around our house.  This is what the kids say about the frogs...We have frogs in our window wells and we catch them.  Then we take them across the street to the river and put them in there and watch them float away.
