Madilynn

Our little Madi just loves to paint. It's one of her favorite things to do. I just love this picture of her because it just shows just how into she gets.

Spring Break

Spring Break has finally ended! I was really looking forward to the break but it didn't turn out like I taught it would...don't get me wrong it was nice not having to take kids to school and dance all week, but last Friday (the 1st day of Spring Break) Savannah came up to me at 10am and said "mom, I'm bored. What can I do?" That was my 1st sign that it was going to be a long week...and that it was.

We did set up the trampoline that Grandpa and Grandma gave us for Christmas which was a big hit for the 1st day or 2 and then at night when I said it was time to go to bed...that's when it became a big hit. (Although jumping in the rain was fun)
We went grocery shopping which Savannah no long understands since we usually do it without her, so she stuggled with that.
We went to park but Savannah ended up standing by me most the time instead of playing with her friend.
The girls went to a friends house for the afternoon one day but I didn't get anything done because the A/C guy came and talked to me for 2 hours mostly about life.
We went to the Mall and played at the play place with friends one afternoon which took up most the day so that was good.
We set up an obstical course on Friday which they really like but only if I was out watching. Then we invited some friends over and they played great for a few hours.
Saturday we worked in the yard, Jason mowed the lawn for the 1st time this year and it looks great!

Ok, I'm done complaining and maybe I should of taken the kids out to more places but for one I was sick of going places and two it all cost money. So there you have it our spring break in a nutshell...hopefully this is not a sign of what summer is going to be like.

PS older kids are so much harder to entertain.

innocent

A few weeks ago the girls learned from the neighbor girl that the word "grass" has a bad word in it. I told them it did and then just kind of dropped it but now and again it comes up again. Well yesterday Savannah came up to me casually and said, "mom some people don't know that there are bad words."
Me: "What do you mean?"
S: "Well some people say the bad word that's in grass."
M: "Who says it?"
S: "________ dad (Savannah's best friend's dad, our neighbor) sometimes says it"
M: "To you?"
S: "No sometimes he just says 'get the #@% out of here'"
M: relieved it wasn't directed to her, "Oh ya well... some people know it's bad but still say it."(thinking I'm going to have go into a longer explanation until she stops me and says...)
S: matter of factly "No mom, they just don't know it's a bad word."
M: smiling... "Oh well, maybe next time he says it you should tell him it's a bad word.
S: smiled

I'm so glad she has that innocents to think that no one would ever say a bad word on purpose but it's just that they don't know it's a bad word. Hopefully that continues to last for a few more years. :) Growing up years...hope we make it.

what does it take to get a good picture around here.

I was trying to take some pictures for the side of our blog...since Halloween is over and this is what I got...

Something happened while we where taking individual that make Austin angry so he went over to the stairs to cry and pout

Savannah mad and annoyed at the way her sisters are holding her. Olivia's eyes are closed so I tell her to open them...

We laughed so hard after this one.

Then they where trying to be funny

Finally some smiles, cheesy but at least everyone has smiles and eyes open

Then the big group picture... I think we will try a different day before we call it a success. :) I do love these though because they show some of their personalities.

little things in life

Last week Madi found out Jason had today off and the first thing that came to her mind was..."Can daddy pick me up from school?" We told her that was fine and he would love too.
On Sunday she told all our family on webcam that dad was going to pick her up from school and then continued all week to tell her teacher and everyone else she talked to.
This morning she woke up and came downstairs with the biggest smile on her face and exclaimed, "Today is the best day of my life!...do you know why?...Daddy is picking me up from school today!"
After Jason woke up and I told him this and then I asked if he was still going to get her, he said, "Wow what a disappointment if I don't go, it doesn't sound like I have a choice."
Then when we went to get her, she got a huge smile on her face when she saw him and the teacher said, "Madi has been so cute today all durning gym (the last thing of the day) she has been telling us, 'I can't wait for you to meet my dad...he is very handsome."
