grandpa and grandma Jensen's visit

Grandpa and Grandma Jensen (Jason's parents) came to visit us for a week (December 1st-December 8th) We had a wonderful and enjoyed having them come a spend time with us. They even got to be here for Olivia's birthday which was very special for her.
Here are a few of the fun things we did while they where here.



Tree Decorating party with grandma since we never get to go to her party we saved our ornaments and did it with her when she got here.

Hung out with grandpa...it was fun for them to have a new lap to sit on.

Savannah skipped school on Friday and we went to the mall to see Santa. Savannah asked for a guitar, Madilynn a microphone and Olivia a microphone too (probably because her sister asked for one.)

Watched a movie with grandma on her bed. They also went to see "Tangled" at the movie theater with was their favorite thing they did. (My favorite part was I went to the store by myself or had lots of help and I also got to the dentist and doctor in peace.)

Another thing grandma does every Christmas is decorate gingerbread and since we always miss it, grandma brought her recipe and everyone got to decorate their own gingerbread man.

Monday grandpa and grandma got to go eat school lunch with Savannah, which she enjoyed very much, I don't think grandpa and grandma minded going either it was just when Savannah made them go out to recess with her in the freezing cold that they were not dressed for.

Then we shared one of our traditions with grandpa and grandma and went and rode the train at the Valley West Mall.

We had a great time having grandpa and grandma come and visit. Thanks for coming to see us. We Love You!

(Madilynn is very sensitive and so when I dropped them off at the airport she was sobbing and didn't stop until we were halfway home but what was really sweet was while she was crying she said, "Do you think grandma is still crying? because she said she was going to cry all the way home."..."Yes Madi grandma is probably still crying." :) )

It's December 11th...

and we just got the 1st snow of the season.

Living here in Iowa I have mixed feeling about this...I want a white Christmas I just don't want an ice Christmas which is usually what happens here especially when tomorrow is supposed to be 11 degrees without the wind chill and the driveway and roads are already a sheet of ice.

3 years old

Our sweet little girl, Olivia, turned 3 years old today.

Every day I look at her and think where is my little girl going she seems to be changing right before my eyes, which makes me very sad.

Here are a few things about her:
her favorite color is black
her favorite nursery song is "Once there was a Snowman"
her favorite princess is Tiana
her favorite dinner is potatoes
her favorite treat is marshmallows (they even bring them especially for her at nursery)
her favorite game to play is "Hungry Hippos"
her favorite movie is "Pinket in the Frog" ("Princess and the Frog")

her favorite thing to play with is "babies"
her favorite book "There's a Monster in my Closet"
she wants to be "Snow White" when she grows up
She is starting to recognize her name and now every time she sees an "O" she points it out
She loves to do preschool with Madi and mom
she loves to sleep with her snuggy princess blankets.
she loves when her dad comes home and always runs to see him when she hears the garage door go up (dad loves it too)

she loves her sisters and brother
she has to have her juice in the morning, usually this first thing out of her (and Madi's) mouth is "can I have some juice?"
she has been my little service helper without being asked, a few times she has seen something that needs to be picked up and has done it. I hope this trait sticks with her.

We love you Olivia! Thanks for bring sunshine to our family.

Happy Thanksgiving!

SLEEPOVER

Savannah wanted to have a sleepover with her sisters in Madilynn's bed so during the Thanksgiving break I told them the could. Last night they climbed in Madilynn's bed, we hung a big sheet down the side of the bunkbed so it was like a cave, Savannah read books to them and they didn't sleep well because all kept kicking each other and loosing their blankets. I don't know how many more time that is going to be allowed but they thought it was GREAT!

4 babies in 2010

All four of my parents children had babies this year.

I am the oldest, Jason and I had Austin on January 3rd.

My brother, Brandon, the second in the family, and his wife, Kristie had Owen on August 6th.

My sister, Katie, the youngest in the family, and her husband Spencer, had Bailee on September 2nd.

And my brother, Jeff, third in the family, and his wife, Rachael had Tate on November 4th.

What a fun year for our family.
