Dad's Day

April 5th was Dad's Day at Madilynn's preschool. You can tell how excited she was to take her dad to school and be with him all by herself.

April 9th was Dad's Day at Savannah's preschool. She couldn't wait until Dad could go to preschool with her. They had a great time together. Here is what she said about her dad:

(she got everything right except the weight)

Easter 2010

Savannah and Madilynn visiting the Easter Bunny...Olivia was scared and Austin didn't care.
(I don't think the bunny knew who was taking the picture)

Tradition to ride the Valley West Mall Train.

Friday before Easter we had an Easter Egg Hunt with friends. It was a little cold and windy but the kids had fun anyway.

Olivia

Olivia and Madilynn

We had a Branch Easter Breakfast and Egg hunt at the Church on Saturday before Conference.

Saturday Night we dyed our Easter Eggs and like always we run out of eggs before we want to be done but had a good time anyway.

Easter Morning the kids woke up and found that the Easter Bunny had hidden their baskets along with the eggs. They had a great time looking for their baskets and eggs. Then since it was General Conference we just hung out all day and watched Conference and ate lots of candy.

Austin's 1st Easter. He got a truck instead of an Easter Basket...I am sure he will love it one day.

Do your kids look for Easter Eggs the same way they look for their shoes or are they better when looking for eggs? Our kids look the same way no matter what they are looking for. We thought they would be better looking for eggs...guess not.

Riding

Savannah learned how to ride a two-wheeler bike last week.

It all started when I bought her a new big bike so Madi could have her old bike. Well our first family walk (Sunday evening) after I fixed all the bikes with trainning wheels she bent the trainning wheel the first 100 yards and I ended up holding her up the rest of the time, until towards the end of the walk I decided to see what she could do. I held on to the back of her seat and ran with her and eventually let go... she actually rode by herself and then Jason had to step in because I couldn't run as fast as she could ride. But in the end the bike was too big for her to get on and off of.

So on Friday (almost a whole week later) I decided to take the trainning wheels off Madi's bike (sorry Madi) and we went out on a new big open street with no houses or cars and I taught her how to ride. She didn't need much help at all. She could balance immediately and even could brake and get off so the thing we really "practiced" was getting started all by herself. By the time the sun went down she had it. She is so proud of herself and so are Jason and I. Now if we only had a place for her to ride all the time.

PS Then this week she taught herself how to turn and ride on the grass.

Good Job Savannah! We are so proud of you and all you practicing. (I have been trying to teach her that it takes practice to be good at something, that all the dancers, and people she sees on TV practice hard to be good at what they do they just don't try it once and they are done.)

Where we have been

******Warning Picture Overload******

January 21, 2010 - February 18, 2010 Jason had the opportunity to go to South Africa and do a rotation there. He was home sick most the time and probably would not go back but he did see lots of interesting things in the hospital and out.

Sweet hat Jason got while doing some surgery

Cape Town

February 19, 2010 - March 20, 2010 (yes the day after Jason got home) We drove to Utah because Jason had a Family Practice rotation in Bountiful and to see our family. We had a great time spending time with Grandparents, cousins, aunts and uncles.

Bear Lake

Jason and I went up to my parents cabin at Bear Lake the first weekend we were there. We took Austin with us and my parents had our girls along with my brothers 3 girls who are all the same ages as our 3 girls. (Guess who had more fun.?) We had a great time just hanging out doing nothing. We had never been to Bear Lake in the winter...it was Beautiful!

We went to Kangaroo Zoo with Jason side of the family. It was so fun to play with all of our cousins. Olivia got really brave and went up the big slide all by herself.

My Dad, Olivia, and Jason

We went swimming with my family one night and had a great time. The kids love to swim. Don't worry we didn't take Austin in the water. He and I just hung out and watched all the action.

Savannah and Riley

Madilynn and Paige

My dad gave us ski tickets so we could go on a date but last time I went skiing I thought my legs were going to fall off (I think it is the extra 30 lbs), they could barely hold my body up. So Jason and Shawn (Jason's brother) went.

Austin on his Blessing day, March 7, 2010

Austin and Alli on his blessing day.
What a sweet little boy we have been blessed with!

Our little boy

Jason and Austin on his blessing day.

We had a great day filled with love and emotion as we blessed Austin in Utah surrounded by our family.

Girls at the Bountiful Temple.
I don't have a picture but my Grandpa Gardner got married on March 13, 2010 in the Bountiful Temple. I am so glad we were in town so we could go and share that moment with him.

We took the girls ice skating at the U.S. Olympic Oval in Kearns. They did a really good job for their first time. Savannah and Madi just took off and did their own thing with their little walkers. Olivia didn't really like it but she keep her skates on the whole time and was able to stand in them with really good balance. Jason and I took a little time to warm up but ended up doing okay. We had a great time and it was need to skate in a place where Olympic Gold Medalist have skated.

Savannah

Madilynn

Jason and Olivia

We had a early Easter with Jason side of the family. The girls had so much fun with their cousins.

(Madilynn, Olivia, Max, Savannah, Mikaela,
Charlie, Dylan, and Mia...)

Cole was late for the picture.

Jason actually let him touch Austin touch the t.v. remotes.
He looks happy to have them too, little does he know that this was probably his first and last time.

Austin with his Great Grandma Green and loving it.

I took the kids to Temple Square one afternoon. They loved it and of course just wanted to watch the Brides at the temple.

They were really cute and keep possing for the camera and Savannah would tell me what shots she wanted...she not going to be a difficult bride at all.

All of my parents grandkids with three more coming this year...that means me and all my siblings with have a baby in the year 2010.
(Riley, Savannah, Austin, Sierra, Oliva, Josh, Madilynn and Paige)

Thanks for the great time everyone it was fun to see everyone again! We love you!
