Iowa

May 26-30 We drove down to Des Moines to see friends before they moved away.
Everyone was so excited to go back and see friends and just be in Iowa again.
We stayed in a hotel downtown Des Moines which was kind of fun.  The kids had never stayed in a city like that even though it is not big it was new and fun for them.

We went straight to the hospital so Jason could see his friends there.  The residency kind of feel apart and most everyone had to find a new residency spot so he wanted to see everyone before they all left.

That night Jason and I had dinner with BJ and Kristin at the 801 Steak House.  The kids went to the Dunlavy's to play of course.

Saturday we couldn't miss the Farmer's Market and the turkey leg.  Dunlavy's met us there and we had a great time like we always do at the Farmer's Market.

DeWitts- Hayden, McKenzie and Charlie

After we drove around and visited the kids friends while Jason went golfing.
It was so fun to see them all again.  It also helped seeing them too because the kids learned that time moves on and even though you still consider them your Iowa friends people change and you change.

Savannah and Elisa

Madi and Grace

 Jada, Savannah and Ashlyn

That night we went to dinner at Smokey D's with the Paul and Alisha while then kids hung out at the Dunlavy's again.  They are graduating and moving to Idaho so it was fun to catch up and talk to them about what is life is like out of residency.

Darby Lee and Savannah (got baptized the same day back in 2013)

Sunday I took the kids to church while Jason went golfing with Bob.  Again it was so fun to see everyone again.  The kids had a great time seeing all their church friends again who welcomed us back with open arms.  This is probably the best time we had.  Savannah felt the most at home there with her friends and it was fun to see they pick up right were they left off.

Then we went at walked Gray's Lake bridge that night.  It was just fun to see everything again.

Monday we drove down to the Green's Lake house and spent the day fishing and swimming in freezing cold water.

Olivia's BFF, Avery, had been out of town but we finally caught up with her Monday night.  It was so fun to see those two when they saw each other.  Avery ran and gave Olivia the biggest hug, it was so cute.  They invited her to stay to a while so they hung out for about an hour and talked on the trampoline and had a great time catching up.

We drove by our old house and saw our fun neighbors out front and stopped to visit with them too.  It was fun to talk to talk with them they are so fun and full of energy.

The rest of the night we hung out at the Dunlavy's playing and talking.

Tuesday stopped at the mall and drove back home at 7 hours.
It was a great trip! We are glad we did it.

BYU's Living Legends

BYU's Living Legends came to Aberdeen.  Our ward was in charge of hosting them, making all the sleeping arrangement, food arrangements, and advertise and sell ticket. Alli was on the committee.  We weren't given a lot of time so there was a lot to do in a short amount of time. It was a lot of work but looking back I would do it all over again.  It was such a great experience for all those involved and who came out to see the show.

We had two couples stay at our house.  It was a pleasure to have them stay with us for a night.
