Austin's 5th Birthday

Our baby turned 5 years old this week!  Wow!!  He is such a sweet little boy and has brought so much joy into our family.  We love him very much!

He had week full of fun.  It started with eating cake batter, then dinner with dad (just the two of them),  Then on his birthday he had a "Dusty Planes Fire and Rescue" Cake, got lots of presents including a much loved Reindeer jacket from grandma and grandpa Jensen and a remote control truck from grandpa and grandma Gardner.  He few days after his birthday he had his first friend birthday party and enjoyed every minute of it.  Finally just him and boys to play alone with no girls!

2015

2015 Disclaimer
It is now August and I am so far behind on this blog.  So much has happened these last 8 months and I have only blogged a few things.  So to at least get this year documented I am just going to do quick posts.  I feel bad but I know it is important no matter how much I write.  Today in church there was a quick comment on Family History and stories.  I feel these blog post and books I have made are our little family history and so I decided that something is better than nothing and that I need to get caught up.

NEW YEARS EVE!

I don't have any pictures of New Years Eve but we went to the Straley's house along with the Dunlavy's and Foster's.  We had lots of food.  The men watched football, the kids played and the women talked.  It was a fun nigh, I just forgot my camera.

Christmas Eve Tradition

Since we don't live by family we have created our own Christmas Eve tradition that we started 9 years ago, our 1st Christmas away from family.

We always have a nice Christmas Eve dinner, followed by a Christmas devotional where we read the Christmas Story and watch a few church Christmas videos.  It really bring the true the meaning of Christmas into our home before Santa comes.

After we get in our jammies, get in the car and go out to drive through the town to see all the Christmas lights while we listen to Christmas music.

We have all come to love this wonderful tradition that brings the spirit of Christmas in our home.
