20 years

Its been 20 years today since we lost my grandma and I still miss her.

Look at that face he is so sweet and innocent UNTIL you try and do something for him.

 

He wants to do EVERYTHING by himself and will cry forever until he gets to do it.

 

Examples:

he gets in and out of his crib by himself (it's really cute though because in the morning and after nap instead of just getting out of bed he will yell "mom can I get out now!"

 

he buckles his own top clip on his car seat

 

he says he prayers by himself and he always wants to be the one to pray.

 

he brushes his own teeth (I do grab his other toothbrush and we do it together)

 

when he is really mad and we are in a hurry and he's not cooperating I start doing things for him and he does not like that and will cry and cry until I can get the subject changed.

 

Today I picked up his cool bracelt off the car floor and handed it to him because he drop it and had been asking for it while I was driving, so I saw it and gave it to him as he was getting out of the car and he said, "I get it" and put it back where I had gotten it and picked it up again.

 

Those are just a few of the many.  Sometimes I feel like that is my whole day...trying to negotiate with a 2 1/2 year old what he can and can't do.  Like pour Crystal Light is something I can't let him do.  :)

A couple weeks ago we got to have Polly Penguin in our home again (Since we have the same preschool teachers as last year we get to do everything again this year :) ).  She is the preschool class pet and it was Olivia's turn to have her for the weekend.  Olivia did lots of fun things with her; she kept her cooler next to her bed at bed time, played with her, went on a bike ride with her and took her to the park.

As you can tell she was very excited to bring Polly home with her.

Most the time our life feels chaotic, especially at bed time,

 

 

 but it's times like these I want to remember, the sweet moments that we are blessed to witness.

 

A lot of times we just see the bad things that happen each day, but I think that if we were to sit down every day and a go though the events of the day we would see that more good happens than bad.

 

I am grateful for the good and bad in my life and what they teach me each day.

Yesterday the girls got to wear their favorites team's attire to school.

And today we are cheering on the HAWKS as they take on the CYCLONES!
